14.10.22 CFP: ANALYZING THE SINOPHONE NARRATIVES ON THE RUSSIAN INVASION IN UKRAINE
The Ukrainian Association of Sinologists and the A. Krymskyi Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are pleased to announce an inter-disciplinary conference “Sinophone Narratives on the Russian Invasion in Ukraine” that will take place on 14 October 2022. The conference will be conducted in English online (via Zoom). Participants will seek to develop an inter-disciplinary perspective on the complex web of Sinophone narratives surrounding the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. The organizers encourage submissions that examine the narratives generated by the different state and non-state agents in the diverse Sinophone sphere, including mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the global Chinese diaspora. Submissions from academics working in such disciplines as media studies, international relations, gender studies, literature, legal studies and other relevant branches of the Humanities and Social Sciences are warmly welcomed.
Each participant will present for 20 minutes, followed by Q&A.
To apply, please submit a provisionary title and a short abstract (up to 200 words) of your talk by 5 September to conference@sinologist.com.ua.
Successful applicants will be notified by 15 September.
